Glenglassaugh Evolution
Evolution is part of the new era of distilling at Glenglassaugh. The distillery was closed between 1986 and 2008 and this comes from the newer production period and is therefore no more than 6 years old, and most likely around 5 years. It is slightly unusual for a distillery to have such a gap in production and for that reason the owners have to be quite creative with their bottlings. This one is relatively simple in concept. It has been entirely matured in ex-Tennessee whiskey casks from George Dickel and is bottled at natural cask strength. Expect to taste lots of vanilla, pear drop, and vibrant youthful flavours but also a surprising amount of body and spice for such a young whiskey.
