Kilchoman Fino Sherry Cask Matured 2020 Release
A special release from Kilchoman that uses rarely seen (for whisky) Fino Sherry casks. Fino Sherry is a dry, saline and fresh style of fortified wine that often has flavours of almonds, green olives and yeasty bread. From our experience it seems to work very well with the signature peated style of Islay malts where the casks add a surprising amount of fruit and depth. This was vatted from 11 fresh Fino Sherry butts and 1 refill Fino Sherry butt.
